From a Cosy Standard to our Deluxe Backpacker Cabins for a Romantic tryst to Family sized for all to sleep in, we offer a range of these Cabins to suit most budgets, and can tailor a booking to suit your requirements.  All boast brand new Pillows, pillow protectors, freshly laundered sheets and pillow cases and you can chose from a Deluxe Cabin with a fully made up bed, plus extra's or select a Standard backpacker and you can either bring your own bedding or sleeping bag or hire quilts and a top sheet and or a towel for a small fee.

Guests using our cosy Backpacker cabins share the Camp facilities located nearby which include a clean Kitchen with fridge freezers to store your groceries. Both Kitchens have either electric or gas hobs, small bench top ovens, microwaves and we usually have a small selection of crockery and cutlery, pots and pans to help you cook up a culinary treat!. Sometimes the items go missing so feel free to ask Chrissy if there is something you need she will usually loan you from her own Kitchen!, The segregated or Unisex showers and toilets have Gas hot water and the showers are powerful and help to soothe the aches after a long walk, horse trek along the windswept Whakareiki Beach, mountain-bike ride, or just a wander through the wonderful woodland trails or streets of Collingwood.

 

Dogs are Strictly NOT allowed in our cabins or parked in Vehicles outside, Dogs are welcome by arrangement with Management only, and can only stay on our Sites.Dogs are NOT permitted during Christmas or Easter school holidays.

Anyone bringing a dog onto the property during these periods or allowing a dog into a cabin may be charged a cleaning fee and asked to leave immediately no refunds paid.

 

 

 

Our Kitchen Cabin is Number 8 and is our only Kitchen Cabin. It is Quaint and warm with all linen and bedding including a quilt and bedspread supplied for guests who chose this option, this cabin has a queen bed and a single and is located straight across from the showers and toilets and also boasts a "Freeview" TV, small Fridge, Microwave, double cook top, Electric Frypan and all cutlery, crockery and kitchen tools supplied.

Cabin 12 The Ensuite cabin is small and rustic and also includes all linen and bedding an Electric Blanket on the Queen bed along with a fluffy Mink blanket and a small efficient Heater Helps to keep the winter chills away.

The Sleeping arrangement in number 12 consists of a "Hotelier" luxurious queen bed in the main room and single bunks just inside the entry way in a small narrow sunporch. We recently updated our pillows throughout the Camp and along with pillow protectors guests can sample the luxury of our "Dream-maker" brand high loft pillows, knowing they are fabulously Clean and very comfy to rest your head on.

The small Ensuite has a spartan shower, basin and toilet, we include towels for each guest along with a hand towel and bathmat and flannels that can be used to remove makeup without staining.

The Bach or "The Old Hawthorne Place" boasts the right of being the oldest house in Collingwood and is a little telling of this fact. it is run as a "Holiday Let" (see below for details**)

Guests use the camp laundry situated nearby with plenty of clothesline space, pegs, and baskets for those wishing to use them. 

Bedroom 1 has a queen and single bunks, bedroom 2 a double, and two cosy singles, and the spacious Lounge has a double bed in the corner.

There are electric blankets on all three of the queen or double "Hotelier" beds and a cosy log fire in the lounge to warm things up during the colder months, the bedrooms have an eco panel heater in each.

The Bach has a large separate Kitchen and Dining area that contains a dishwasher, a full stove with an oven, Microwave, large family sized fridge-freezer, electric frypan, plenty of pats and pans along with all the other kitchen requirements a larger group or family may require.

The only bathroom is off the kitchen and boasts a huge steel bathtub with a shower over top, The toilet is located in a small alcove on the end of the room,the bath is perfect for a long hot soak and with a gas water system in place it does allow that to happen when required. Guests can also use the shared amenities block located right next door which has unisex showers and toilets the only camp laundry plus outside Kitchen.

There is off road parking for 2 vehicles and the family boat any others can be parked on William Street at the front of the house.

The Bach is suitable for families , a group of friends keen to explore the region, fishing parties planning a weekend's adventure. Mountain bikers or Hikers, or just a restful get together away from the worries of work or family, and is well used and very popular.

**Staying in The Bach ... Be prepared to stay a while as we prefer stays of 3 days or more and ask that guests manage their own rubbish removal and recycling, clean up after themselves, vacuum the floors, strip all beds that are used and generally leave it clean and tidy like you would a holiday home. This means we can keep the price affordable and its easy to have it ready for the next group that arrive, we like our cabins to be scrupulously Clean and Tidy for guests to stay in. Stays of only one night incur an extra fee of $5 per person.

Please note an extra cleaning fee of $50 applies if the Bach is NOT left clean and tidy.

Parking your vehicle>> All of our Cabins have a parking space available for one vehicle, Powered or Un-Powered tent sites are sized to allow room for a family of 4-5 people tent plus vehicle, however if your tent takes up the whole site you will need to park your car or,any other vehicles outside of the camp on William street unless other arrangements have been made. Please speak to Chrissy or Gary as during the Low season we can generally let you park it somewhere handy, please don't just park on someone else's site and walk away, you are liable to be towed away at owners expense.

Winter Office Hours: 9.00am to 6.30pm - these hours apply 1st May to 30th September.
