Welcome to Collingwood Motor Camp

We are located halfway between the wonders of the Farewell Spit, the stunning Whakareiki Beach with the amazing Archway Islands, Cape Farewell, pillar point light house and the lovely township of Takaka

and the closest Holiday Park to the Wonders of  the Heaphy Track, a link between Golden Bay and the  Northern most west coast village of Karamea.

We can provide accommodation to suit all budgets and although we are historically the oldest camp in Golden Bay we pride ourselves on our clean and tidy facilities and cabins.

There are heaps of things to see and do in Collingwood, from our own wee museum to the huge "Settlers Museum"

If its a Devonshire tea you fancy check out the Historic Langfords Store where you are taken back in time and served Tea in real porcelain cups and saucers.

The "World Famous" Naked Possum Cafe hails the start of the Kaituna Walking track with views to kill from its uppermost point fuel up on the wonderful "Wild Food" Menu before you hit the trail.

Our own "Tinkys" located at the nearby Collingwood Tavern has a huge Menu of dishes from the "Famous Bluff Oysters" served with your choice of Salad and chips or vegetables to an array of options on their "Takeaway menu" Kids menu and lots of snack options to suit all budgets.

Sample the atmosphere of the main bar and watch the latest sports coverage on their big screen Tv, sit idly in from the warm log fire or chance your hand at the "pokie machines"

The Courthouse Cafe is straight down the end of the main street and also supplies a great menu including vegetarian options, the front area is a great spot to sit out in the sun and watch the comings and goings of locals and visitors alike.

There are other accommodation options if you wish to stay in Collingwood so if you prefer a backpackers "Sommerset House" is located up on the hill and has several options you can choose from for sleeping arrangements

Zatori retreat is located up on the hill as you first arrive and historically was the site of the only "Hospital come retirement home" in Collingwood for many years, this has been turned into an up-market resort with options including a very flash Backpacker dorm to "luxury suites".

Pioneer Motels is about 100 metres from the entry to the Motor Camp and has well appointed family sized units at reasonable prices.

Courthouse Motels is located down opposite the Court House Cafe and also has some lovely studio and family sized units that are reasonably priced.

The Fishing is awesome here in Collingwood so don't forget to bring your fishing gear, Gary has some surf-casters for hire and can help you out with bait and rig advice but check out our "Events Page" for the latest news on whats coming up for the avid fisherman or woman!
